Building Bridges

What is the Building Bridges Campaign all about?

bridge

As the name suggests, this campaign invites our members to participate in building bridges.

  1. To greater Personal Financial Freedom Building on past stewardship campaigns, we will be equipping and encouraging our members and friends to strive for the financial freedom that Go desires for all of his children. This will take place during worship, with a series of sermons on "Money Matters", and through a stewardship class/seminar that we will be offering called "Good Sense". We believe that God wants you to build a bridge to wiser use of all of your resources, and that Good $ense will be a helpful tool in equipping you to reduce debt, save the future, and give generously.
  2. To more effective mission and ministry in Milford and beyond Our Building Bridges campaign invites you to give to support the mission and ministry of MUMC annually. As you give generously, we believe that you will discover the joy of giving to God, and help MUMC make an even greater impact in Milford and beyond.
  3. To a more secure future for the Milford United Methodist Church God has blessed us with a beautiful new facility in which to worship, serve, and grow. And while many of our members and friends have already given generously to help finance the construction of our new church home, we still owe $850,000 before we own the building outright. Your participation in this aspect of the campaign will go a long way to help us "meet our monthly mortgage payment of $6,100, as well as towards our efforts to reduce ourdebt and secure a healthy financial future for our church.

How can I participate in the Building Bridges campaign?

First you can pray. Pray for the campaign as a whole, for the leaders of the campaign, for our members and friends, and your response to this campaign.

Second, you can commit to attending worship. During worship you will hear more about the campaign, about God's desire for you to experience financial freedom, and about some of the biblical and spiritual principles around money and its proper uses. You can listen to Pastor Tom's "Money Matters" sermon series here.

Third, you can view our House Meeting video.

Finally you can make a commitment of some of your financial resources to God through MUMC. We are asking all of our members and friends to prayerfully consider making two separate commitments.

  1. A commitment to MUMC's general, ongoing ministry.
  2. A commitment to MUMC's mortgage (building) fund.
